Terms of Service
Last updated: May 2026
1. Agreement
By accessing https://www.dummy-bi.com or using Dummy BI software, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. Software License (EULA)
Dummy BI grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Dummy BI Automate subject to these terms.
- Waitlist and beta access: Dummy BI Automate is not currently available for public download. When beta access is offered, you may use the beta version for personal and commercial testing, at no cost. All available local and Pro modules may be enabled during beta.
- Beta status: Any beta version of Dummy BIAutomate is pre-release software. Features may be incomplete, change without notice, or fail on some Power BI projects. Always keep backups before testing automation features.
- Pro subscription: When offered, the paid Pro tier is licensed per subscription period (monthly or annual). Your license is valid as long as your subscription is active. You receive a license key delivered via email.
- After beta: Local parsing and documentation may remain available at no cost. Pro and online modules may be disabled after beta until they are separately offered.
- Restrictions: You may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or distribute the software. You may not share your Pro license key with third parties. One license key is valid for one user on up to five (5) personal devices.
- Ownership: The software, including all code, UI, and documentation, remains the intellectual property of Thomas Nekam / Dummy BI.
3. Local Processing
The core documentation and datasource-switching features process files entirely on your machine. Dummy BI does not access, collect, or store your Power BI files. The optional API connectors (Power BI service, Fabric, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Databricks) connect directly to those third-party services using credentials you supply; Dummy BI never receives or stores that data.
4. Marketplace
When the marketplace launches, purchases will be processed by Lemon Squeezy as Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy's terms apply to payment processing. Templates purchased are licensed for your use only and may not be redistributed.
5. Right of Withdrawal & Refund Policy
When paid subscriptions or marketplace purchases are offered, the Austrian Fern- und Auswärtsgeschäfte-Gesetz (FAGG) and EU Consumer Rights Directive give consumers a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase.
- Digital content: If you access or download digital content (e.g. Pro features, marketplace templates) before the 14-day period ends, the right of withdrawal may expire only where the legally required consent and acknowledgement are collected at the point of purchase.
- Subscriptions: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the current billing period. Outside statutory withdrawal, refund, or warranty rights, no partial refunds are issued for the remaining period.
- How to request a refund: Email support@dummy-bi.com within 14 days of purchase. Include your order number.
6. Limitation of Liability
Dummy BI is provided without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by Austrian law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the software, including but not limited to data loss, report corruption, or business interruption.
You are solely responsible for maintaining backups of your Power BI files before using any automation features. We recommend version control or file copies before running datasource switching or other modifications.
This limitation does not apply to damages caused by intent or gross negligence, or to mandatory consumer protection rights under Austrian law (KSchG).
7. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Austria, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. For disputes, the competent courts in Eisenstadt, Austria shall have jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection rules (KSchG § 14) provide otherwise.
The European Online Dispute Resolution platform was discontinued on 20 July 2025. EU consumer redress information and recognised dispute resolution bodies are available from the European Commission at consumer-redress.ec.europa.eu.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
